The 'favored one' is Mary. I assume you can comprehend that when person A directs their speech towards person B, that when they describe person B as 'favored one' that person B = 'favored one.'

I understand stretching an inch into a yard.

Catholics believe in weekly fellowship with Christ through the Eucharist...

And regarding weekly Eucharist, no, it is not limited to being weekly. IN fact, the Eucharist is given everyday, multiple times. I only say weekly because many Catholics go to Church once a week, on the Sabbath.

------------------------------

Are you inferring (I don't want to jump to conclusions...) that your "fellowship with Christ" is limited to the eucharist?

(P.S. Reggie---good idea with the dotted line.)

When you direct a conversation to someone are you praying to them? When you ask your church members to pray for you are you praying to them?

No. Neither am I closing my eyes as I speak and assuming a posture of prayer as catholics do. Nor am I venerating them by affirming their blessedness and telling them how holy they are.

IOW, it depends. Perhaps, if you could ask for specific articles, etc., I could get them together.

NO NO! That would be too easy for you !!!!! Heh heh 8 :)

...and all catholics:

By the way, is there a recitation to Christ that you guys are given to repeat, or just one to the Father ("Our Father") and to Mary ("Hail Mary")? Note: I'm not indicating that there OUGHT to be one; I'm just asking if there IS one. If Christ is one with the Father (which He is) and is therefore greater than Mary, it would only seem natural to me for you guys to also have a special prayer to Christ. If you do, why don't we ever hear about it? And if you don't, why do have one addressed to Mary but not to her Son, who is God?

How do non-Catholic "prayer warriors or circles"work? I understood that they had telephone lists? Am I wrong?

Yes, and they are all living, breathing people. If you physically die, you are removed from the list. So what's your point?

Hi Dadwags. (Love that handle.)

----------------------------------------

The Catholic Encyclopedia at newadvent.org mentions the authenticity of the manuscripts. JH may know more, but here's a start. : )

JH, you must be teasing .
the years 1-99 A>D. are the FIRST Century .
the years 101-200 are the SECOND century .
The years 201-300 are the THIRD century. therefore the latter half of the second century ended BEFORE 200 .

Oh OK, so its just YOU that decided on the definition of prayer. Thanks for clearing it up. For a second there I thought it came from someone with clout, like Jesus or something.

Also good to know that the con game is up, and that the only rationale anti-Catholics such as yourself have for attacking Catholic beliefs is well, whats in your head. When you are your own Pope, I guess anything is possible.

I assume that you believe in soul sleep? You believe that the dead do not have ETERNAL LIFE in Christ (being believers of course)???????

Soul sleep is the doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses and other heretical cults.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying that the angel was not addressing Mary in Lk 1:28?

Did you read my posts on works and rewards? I am curious as to what your conclusion is. Did you read all the verses?

Nope, I am not inferring that. I am saying that we engage in fellowship through the Eucharist. That does not preclude any other act of fellowship.

I'll make it even more clear to you, if you are talking to someone and it is one way communication with someone not physically alive, it's prayer. Unless you want to contend that God audibly speaks answers to your prayers, in which case I want to ask what He says to you. :-)

"Hail Mary" = Lk 1:28

"The Lord is with you" = Lk 1:28

"Blessed are you among women" = Lk 1:48

"Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus" = Obvious throughout the Bible

"Holy Mary, Mother of God" = Read the Bible to figure out that she was Jesus's mother and that Jesus was God

"Pray for us ......" A request.

If you read the Bible, you would know that we are to call her blessed.

The latter half of the second century is NOT nearly two hundred years after the apostles died . Maybe almost 50 .(I can remember WWII) (John wrote at about 90-100)
