I served with the 4th Infantry Division, 77th Artillery, HQ Battery. The time period was 11/65 until 8/67. I am trying to find a site that could give me a listing of US and RVN personnel during that period. The 4th shipped out on the Wm. S. Walker out of Tacoma, Wa. In 9/66. Any help for a web site would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone on this board served with that unit, and has pictures to share, please post them here.... :)
If I recall correctly, the 77th was 105mm M101 wheeled tube gun artillery, capable of being slingloaded beneath cargo helocopters and becoming part of an *instant fire base* very quixckly- the *daisy cutter* and *Instant Landing Zone* bombs were developed for just such little surprises.
Accordingly, it may be worthwhile to consider both 4th Infantry and 25th Infantry Division sources of information and photos.
