What Would You Do With Your Own Submarine?

Just a quick discussion. I've done a lot of scuba diving in the Great Lakes (mostly Huron, some in Superior). Most don't realized it's rich underwater history of many shipwrecks, many very well preserved due to the cold fresh water instead of salt. Before cars and roadways were abundant, people traveled by ship quite often. However there were quite a few large storms in the early 1900's that sent a number of ships to watery graves, some well past the 130' limit most advanced recreational divers would try for. Anyone know where there's a good sub manufacturer that could explore down to say 500'?

For the moment, lets just assume sub could hold 5-6 people, and have "reasonable" cost. Or possibly up to 20 people for tourism with a range back to dock of 15 miles?

I could land an invasion party on Barak’s beach in Hawaii.

Soros crew must have some real good security, because I’m sure there are a lot of people around the world who would like to take them out.

I’d take my wife in it and race someone. She always thought watching the submarine races was just an excuse.

Edmund Fitzgerald?

Took a sub rider in Hawaii. Maybe 20 -30 people. But it basically just went up and down.

Also took a helicopter ride that trip. Now that was a hoot!

I read on Tweater that Nancy’s hubby shorted Farcebook (Meta) bigtime right before it crashed. Probably paid for the new place several times over.

Wow. 10 replies in 13 minutes, 5 of which involved “torpedoes” and not so good (I guess there’s a point of view argument to that) intentions against some of the worlds “not necessarily nice” people. Interesting!

What Would You Do With Your Own Submarine?

Hard to say. Is it armed with Trident II missiles?

My first impulse was to write a post about firing torpedoes at my political enemies. However, I saw it had already been done and abstained.

Clever. I remember going to deep water areas as one figured out subs can’t operate in the shallows.

I don’t think submarine tourism would pay well unless you could visit a lot (at least three) wrecks in one dive.

If I had a sub, I’d want something that’s useful for salvage, rescue, actuarial (insurance), resource exploration, and recovery operations. Something that would be able to provide specialized services for corporations, municipalities, and wealthy individuals.

JMHO.
