An angry Steve Newton, Founder of the Silver Star Families of America, called on Chris Hayes to resign or be terminated for his recent comments on MSNBC on the fallen of the United States Military.

How can you politely say -—Well. You know
I didn’t see anything at the website linked. Should I ?
How can we support this effort ?
I am sorry Onona. I am having trouble posting to our site. Our sat is down and we are on dial up.
I will have something up as soon as I can.
Mr. Hays, we know you’re a liberal; liberals do not understand history, nor do they understand the importance of a strong nation. Because of these shortfalls, liberals do not understand the importance of strong military or why their sacrifices deserve great respect.
You do not need to apologize. We understand your type. Some day you will learn why you are wrong. Until that day, we will pray for your education.
Very well said.
But a question.
WHY?
Why can’t even a liberal say “thank you” to someone that has given up his or her life for them?
It is beyond me.
I become more angry by the day
Terminated with extreme prejudice! Oh, we don’t do that, do we? Then just fire his dumb ass and give him two kicks in the ass on his way out the door (don’t open it). That’s my kind of polite “double tap”.
Smile
I wish I had the leeway to say that.
I seriously cannot think of words to describe how I feel about this-—person.
His lack of pride in this country and his lack of empathy for the fallen is beyond words.
I pray there are not too many like him
Yes!!
Stick it to this bassturd. They need to make a big STINKING example out of him.
You DO NOT trample on the graves of the Fallen. That is simply declasse. Keep your grubby politics out of ANY talk about those in uniform, especially those who have sacrificed.
Zero tolerance for this BS.
Told this story already, but we walked back across the Arlington Memorial bridge this weekend with a Gold Star mother after Rolling Thunder. Just lost her son in 2008 in Afghanistan. Luckily he has a twin who was not in the military. Not a finer lady, and not a more handsome son could have been found.
Thinking of her having to listen to this garbage mouth breaks my heart. I hope she skipped the news this weekend.
Now.
That brings tears to my eyes.
You are exactly right.
Why? Why should she have to listen to this bull crap??
Sigh
Thank you for what you did my Friend.
I am sure you took care of the Gold Star Mother.
Too bad oh Chris couldnt have been there. Maybe he would have learned something.
Then again-—nawww
these people respect nothing but their money and power. I’d like to know what companies sponsor his show.
Well, Steve — we just walked with her across that bridge. We didn’t know her. It was very hot, sun blaring, and she was having to walk in the direction of Arlington, where her son was buried. I can’t imagine how much of a bummer that would have been to have to do alone. She was probably fine, though, as she is one strong lady. I’m glad we were there, at that moment, just to wave her over to the metro stop.
But we almost didn’t go. We almost just felt like staying home, not going down. Not taking the time. I’m glad we did — as we received a blessing back from attending Rolling Thunder and meeting her. My husband has 26 years in the military — and was deployed a couple of times, but made it home everytime. We are really, really lucky. She and her family were not so lucky.
But all of them GO. They all put on that uniform knowing full well luck may just not be with them one day. They ARE heroes, in EVERY sense of the word. “If not me, then Who,” is what they all say. We all need to “walk with” these families. Just by remembering, and honoring them, and for some, by just keeping their mouths shut at the appropriate times, if that’s all they can manage to do.
Unfortunately, I got cross-ways with my fiancee this afternoon. We have a WWII vet that comes down to the camp every single day for two beers. She bought him a beer in honor of Memorial Day. I called her to the back and asked if she knew the meaning of the day.
To her credit, she realized what she had done. It won't happen again. Over and over I keep seeing pols and newsmedia trying to honor vets on this day trying to score 'brownie points'.
Come on people, this is "Memorial Day"!
Sniff
Well said
VERY well said
Blessings
You know that is true. Used to be “decoration” day.
My parents always went to the grave yard to “decorate” the graves of family.
But
Then again its always nice to say thank you
Yeah well
Uh
Hummmm
Now. THATS a thought
So true. Trust me, he gets thanked aplenty but you could tell that he was not comfortable having a beer bought for him on Memorial Day. He was embarrassed.
He told me that he was 20 years old the day Pearl Harbor was bombed and that he went straight down that day and enlisted.
The man is a HERO as far as I'm concerned!
Sigh
Amen my FRiend. Amen.
Well.
This thing with “Chris” is not over.
This is a fight I will go to the mat over
Thank you for your service and and all else that you have done and now do for this country Steve Newton!
