Political discussion has been a passion of mine since I was a wee one. I even 'debated' my best friend in third grade. Mary Jane: "Kennedy!" arasina: "Nixon!" LOL (Good thing my other passion is humor, so I can always recognize when I've taken myself too seriously.)

Those prayers I said for you and others helped me get over myself today, so I no longer feel a need to take a break. Know what I mean? I'm sorry for the hurtful things I've posted.

I have actually met a few FReepers in person, Rokke, so they aren't anonymous at all. They are living, breathing humans like you and I, and we are all a remarkable array of intelligence, specific knowledge, wit, empathy, and opinions. His SC justices and his pro-life stance alone, not to mention tax cuts and business policies that have created a booming economy out of a recession, are enough to give him conservative credentials.

I agree.

His immigration plan is most certainly not "conservative" though, that's another fact.

Is he overall conservative? Yes. But that doesn't mean we can't point out inconsistencies when they come up. (CFR comes to mind too)

I was countering the false accusation that he is not conservative AT ALL.

It is voiced often here on FR by those who claim conservative 'purity,' and it is not at all accurate.

In the end, President Bush will have done more for the conservative cause than even Ronald Reagan did.
