Thing is, Mack, that human common sense just isn't up to the task. If a person is reading the Bible while the Holy Spirit is upon him, he will read it inerrantly. Otherwise, he may fail to understand or misunderstand.

The correct interpretation of any Bible passage is that revealed to those who read it in that state of Grace. Whether that happened 1500 years ago or ten minutes ago.

That is one reason that Catholic Tradition is so valuable.
