Because of the nature of the relationship between God and man changing. Under the old covenent the law was external, under the new covenent the law is written in the hearts and minds of believers. The writer of that law in the new covenent is God's spirit and specifically that seems to be the spirit of Christ.
But if we are correct and you are wrong and the Holy Spirit is a member of the trinity , then He would not have changed correct?
BTW the OT only speaks of an indwelling Holy Sprit one time. That was in an artisan that was working on the objects for the tabernacle
The indwelling Holy Spirit is a gift to those that are saved.
Why would one conclude that the Holy Spirit in the NT is different than the Holy Spirit in the OT ?

As your children grow and mature into adults, the nature of your relationship with them will change, as well.
Will not your spirit, in regard to your relationship with your children, ... always be present and remain essentially unchanged, ... despite any changes in how your spirit is expressed toward your children ?
That's too bad that your church doesn't see the need to be in the open where the average person can find you.
Is that a member of the United Reformed Churches in North America (URCNA)?
Yep.
Not necessarily. The Holy spirit could be the same either way. What's different is the way it's manifesting in people...the indwelling. The spirit is still the same, it's presence in people is what's new.

I'm not disputing this but I'm not sure where this is located...can you point it out to me? Thanks!
The indwelling Holy Spirit is a gift to those that are saved.
Agreed.
Yeah, that's a good way to look at it. I think I'm saying the same thing as you and Terry but in different terms. You guys are right in that the spirit hasn't changed, but that is now available to indwell in sinners who have been forgiven by belief in Christ. Re-thinking it, I think that what's new of course is the experience of having the holy spirit indwell and that couldn't happen generally until the sacrifice of Christ.
Exodus 31:1-5
Then in verse 6 he tells the other gifts that were given to the other artisians
It is interesting to think on...
There are a couple of prophetic passages ,but they were conditional and not fulfilled until the NT
other than that the Spirit was always ON them not IN them
Whatever wrigley, characterize it however you want.
Is that a member of the United Reformed Churches in North America (URCNA)?
Yep.
Forget it. I was going to do a massive inquiry and search out where every United congregation meets and if any of them met in a URCNA church I was going to throw it back in your face. But that's pretty petty and I won't do it. I'll just accept that you have a problem with it and let it go. Enjoy.
Yeah sure enough. I'm going to have to study these verses pretty deeply when I get home tonight. I would think that an indwelling of the new covenent type was impossible before Christ because of the inherent sinfulness of man...we aren't clean vessels for God's spirit.
I suspect you are correct. I am trying to remember if the indwelling Holy Spirit was a temporary thing just for the work??
This is the man that fashioned the mercy seat on the ark

Your question to KC on not being able to find a directory on where the United Church of God is listed.
Yellow page are mainly for commercial use, but when you go to a community many inquiries would also include what is listed in the state direcrtory!
So I am asking if you feel these community directories are not as valid as the commerical yellow pages!
Yellow pages list churches. It is one method I have used in the past to find a church to go to on a Sunday when I'm not at home. I don't know of too many people who have a "state directory" at their disposal.
How do you define "valid"? I don't know how to answer your question.
"rest you're coming out of left field"
What does that mean I asked you a legit question, Wrigley!
Now days when one moves into a community they investigate to see if it can accomodate their needs!
So most would use their PC or the Libray to answer their needs.
As far as being walk in!
That happens when one drives by a place often and decides to check it out!
Now if they heard about it on the radio they would call the phone # offered for the nearest location.
So I am a little puzzled why you what think are faults seems to accomodate the members of this faith.
I question the discretion of any Christian church that gives quarter to cults. Be they Church of God, or the Mormons.
As for the rest of your post. You need to read the entire thing, maybe with that context you'll understand what it was about. What you are trying to say is nothing near the point of the conversation.
Can one just walk in?
Are worships only in houses?
or on the internet?
Next you changed the topic which to you renting church space was also another short coming.
Anyways thank you answered the question!
Fine. Let's see how much you actually grasped.
Can one just walk in?
Very difficult with doug's church since it isn't listed anywhere the average person looks.
Are worships only in houses?
??? This wasn't part of the conversation I was involved in. So far you're 0-2.
or on the internet?
Once again ???. 0 for 3. The internet was brought up by doug to show where his church was.
Next you changed the topic which to you renting church space was also another short coming.
Nice try rest, but now you're 0 for 4. Rentinig a place to worship wasn't the issue. The issue is when a Christian church rents its building to non-Christian cults like the church of christ. I questioned the discretion of one church renting its building to the local church of god. I was not questioning a church renting space in order to worship. I have never said a church has to own a facility There is a difference there, and its not all that fine of one.
Anyways thank you answered the question!
Before you go on and say that I'm saying something in an answer, tell me, what question did I answer, and what was the answer that you attribute to me?
