That spiritually dead man understood God and obeyed him! Only after God did a work on his will (and heart by implication). Just as hed had done to Abraam... Otherwise, how do you explain Ps 14:3, Ps 53:3, Rom 3:10-12? None seek for God unless God first seeks him!

Was Abimelech regenerated?

God does seek man, He seeks all men (1Tim.2:4, Jn.3:16, Jn.12:32, Acts, 17:30)

Was Abimelech regenerated?

Neither of us can say for certain because the Scriptures do not give us a definitive answer. However, I would not be surpried if he were. He reponded positively to all the revelation he had, exhibiting a willingness to take God at His word. Recall that from God's perspective, Christ is the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. The Father can apply the merits of and righteousness from that sacrifice to whomsoever He pleases. He is the definition of righteousness, justice, love, and mercy. I trust him to make a merciful and just decision.
