Your #480 to Polycarp on a Smokey Backroom thread where I do not post: It is never okay to post someone else's freepmail.

I would recommend an exception for abusive or threatening freepmails, especially if received by women. They need to see the light of day so the abuser, maybe the monster, who sends them can be confronted publicly, if the moderator does not otherwise resolve it. If the recipient thinks they have to keep the abuse hidden, it can aggravate ulcers or the distress may manifest in other ways.

If you ask me, nobody sending private mail should have any expectations of privacy at all. The words, once in the mailbox of the recipient, can be treated any old way the recipient wants, in my opinion.

If the sender doesn't want those words to see the light of day, then the sender shouldn't send them.
