There are times when I read Hans Urs von Balthasar that his words almost seem luminous in themselves. It leaves me with the most distinct impression as if I had been somehow able to read Light itself.

I know what you mean. He has the ability to understand how God has spoken to man in human language. First he considers the structure of human speech and what it expresses... human experience...and considers the eternal Word incarnating Himself in man and in his speech in order to transform it into God's language. It really does light up!
