They meet Christ in the air, then follow Christ to the Earth where Christ will rule for a thousand years with a rod of iron. Christ will NOT do a U turn, or touch and go , but will stay here on the new Earth in New Jerusalem and rule here on the Earth. Read ALL of the verses, not just one half of a sentence.

Amen! You would not believe (well, on second thought...) how many Christians believe it will all end "in heaven." When you try to correct their thinking so they realize that Christ will reign for a thousand years on this present earth; then the current heavens and earth will be rolled up like a garment and burned; and that a new heaven and new earth will come into being, it's like their brain goes into a numbed state. I guess they have never read the last two chapters of the Bible. It is actually quite frustrating.
