I still like to have the latest and greatest processor and it doesn't matter that what I do doesn't begin to stretch the capability of the product.

Did someone say FAST?

Did someone say FAST?

Did someone say FASTER!

SPECfp_rate_base2000
Single Pentium 4 3.06GHz = 13.6
Dual Xeon 3.06GHz = 16.7
Dual PowerPC G5 2GHz = 15.7
Single Opteron 1.8GHz = 13.0
Dual Opteron 1.4GHz = 21.0
Dual Opteron 1.8GHz = 24.7

SPECint_rate_base2000
Single Pentium 4 3.06GHz = 13.8
Dual Xeon 3.06GHz = 21.7
Dual PowerPC G5 2GHz = 17.2
Single Opteron 1.8GHz = 12.7
Dual Opteron 1.4GHz = 20.0
Dual Opteron 1.8GHz = 25.0

Hehe, Dual Opteron got some major ownage.

That P4 3.06GHz is only 533MHz FSB version with i850 chipset (RAMBUS). The newer 800MHz FSB P4 with i875 (Dual Channel PC3200) is faster, but the scores weren't available yet at SPECbench.

(Unashamedly copied from GOOGLE.)

Now are you ready to quit with the "upsmanship game".

You are comparing stuff that barely equals a chip built by DEC more than 10 years ago. The ALPHA chip!

When you post propaganda it is necessary to consider the source. Why did your "source" forget to compare AMD? ;-)
