Separation of church and state is
essential to freedom of conscience.
Let no one who claims to defend liberty deny that!

The practical problem of Christian politics is not that of drawing up schemes for a Christian society, but that of living as innocently as we can with unbelieving fellowsubjects under unbelieving rulers who will never be perfectly wise and good and who will sometimes be very wicked and very foolish.

I'm all for separation of church and state. What I oppose is separation of state and morality. I would not want to live in a state of state sanctified immorality. All valid religions have morality built into them and I hope our country will have morality built into it as well. I do not support the alternative. Freedom is only for those who know how to act.

I guess I do not defend freedom for everyone. I still think Clinton has too much freedom. Criminals do not get freedom and for that I am truly grateful.
