EXCLUSIVE: Cardinal Joseph Zen of Hong Kong is challenging the decision—communicated to the Cardinals in a letter earlier today—to hold the first meeting of the General Congregations of the College of Cardinals tomorrow morning (Tuesday, April 22) at 9am at the Vatican.

His short statement, just sent to me for immediate release, states:

“Cardinal Zen would like to know why the first session of the General Congregations has to start so early. How are the old men from the peripheries supposed to arrive on time? There is the kind word [in the letter] reminding them that they are not obliged to attend, but do they have the right to do so — yes or no?”

In Italian:

“A Cardinal Zen piacerebbe sapere perché la prima seduta della Congregazioni Generali debba iniziare così presto. Come fanno ad arrivare in tempo gli anziani della periferia. C’è la gentile parola che ricorda loro che non hanno il dovere di parteciparvi, ma ne hanno il diritto — sì o no?”

Letter from the Dean of the College, Cardinal Re, below.

Do I need to spell it out? The fix is in and someone to the left of Frankie is heading down the pipe whether you are at the Vatican or not.

Cardinal Zen makes a fair point. And from what I can tell, he’s a good guy in that he’s quite wary of the Chinese Communist Party. No ChiCom puppet is he.

I hope he casts the deciding vote, if he gets a chance.

The one most want(And the one I want even though Im not Catholic) is this guy named Pastor Sarah, he’s black and he hates illegal immigration and is pro life..does he stand a chance, probably not..after all the Vatican is pretty far left commie, heck the Pope refused to even condemn Hamas for what they did on Oct 7th

Unfortunately, Cardinal Zen is way too old. He’s 93, and no Cardinal 80 or older can vote for the next pope.

But I suppose Zen could meet with some of the electors before the conclave begins. Maybe that’s why the Vatican Deep State wants to rush things.

And so it begins. That why Bergolio told his closest members to come to the Vatican. Bergolio’s people are already there.

Cardinal Sarah is definitely considered electable. He would be a fantastic choice. His age would not be an impediment to election, even if he were over 80. It would only prevent him from participating in the conclave. However, since Francis died before Sarah's 80th birthday, he may participate in the conclave even if his 80th birthday occurs before, during, or after the conclave starts. This is all clearly laid out in the document that controls papal elections.

33. The right to elect the Roman Pontiff belongs exclusively to the Cardinals of Holy Roman Church, with the exception of those who have reached their eightieth birthday before the day of the Roman Pontiff's death or the day when the Apostolic See becomes vacant.
