While global figures of Catholic laity are on the rise, the number of priests serving them has decreased, as has the number of seminarians. And while bishops are slightly higher in number than in the previous year’s figures, the downward trend of seminarians has been constant for over a decade, prompting notable concerns about the future.More bishops, but less priests and seminarians, in Francis's "Synodal" "church"; and he complains about clericalism. Not to mention him packing his rigged college of cardinals with 137 red hats eligible to vote in a papal conclave, despite his "sainted" predecessor, Paul VI, setting the limit at 120 electors.
