Government has been declaring self-indulgence a right and prudence a modern form of Naziism - so everything requiring either will eventually start to crumble…at a much higher replacement cost.

True, that. The self-indulgence thing predates Biden’s America. Americans became comfortable with the idea that nothing bad should happen to them, ever, no matter how little responsibility they showed for the outcome of their actions. The chickens have come home to roost, and it isn’t pleasant.
Lately I’ve been of the opinion that insurance costs are going to push people out of business, car ownership, insuring their homes etc. It seems to be going crazy.
