Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed Be Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!
Thank You, LORD,
For giving us Your Light,
Thank You For Illuminating the Truth.
Thank You For Shining Your Light Upon Us,
And filling our hearts with Your Glorious Light.
And When the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy,
Thank You For turning on your Light,
And Exposing all that is not the Truth!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

An unfortunate contemporary slang expression for a dissatisfied customer is a "Karen". This is a person (usually female) who demands to "speak to the manager" over every delay or deficit in a store or restaurant, and browbeats the clerk or waiter until she gets her way. I feel bad for some lovely people who happen to have the name "Karen", who would never dream of behaving this way.
Sometimes, however, one does have to "speak to the manager" about a problem, only because the person with whom you are dealing doesn't have the authority to make a refund, or open the cash drawer, or do a price check. Then it's okay to make the call. Cashiers even have a call button or a light switch to alert the manager that his or her attention is needed. It's perfectly legitimate to ask to speak to the manager, but be NICE about it.
What picture crosses your mind when you hear the word "Bishop"? In the more Liturgical Branches of Christianity, we see a man with a tall pointed hat, dressed in resplendent robes, and carrying a special staff that looks like a shepherd's crook. Some vestments are more ornate than others, but it is safe to say that the Bishop has an air of authority. He is in charge of a group of Pastors, Deacons, or Priests, but he also has to answer to somebody higher than himself. In some Denominations it would be the Archbishop, others, the Metropolitan, a Cardinal, or a Pope. Whatever branch we are talking about, the "bishop" holds an office that, if we were talking about a corporation, would be called "Mid-Level Management". This odd name for Jesus caused me to (you guessed it!) consult with my online Greek Interlinear, which led me to Strong's 1985.
The word for "Bishop" used here is "ἐπίσκοπος" (episkopos), and simply means "overseer or superintendent". It was used in other places in Scripture to speak of a minor official in the nascent church, like a supervisor of the deacons. It was also used in civilian situations in the same way we would use the words "supervisor" or "manager".
The term "episkopos" has even been used to name an entire denomination (Episcopal), perhaps to describe the way the governing body of the church is set up. A similar usage is the word "Presbyterian" which comes from the Greek Word πρεσβύτερος (Presbuteros) Strong's 4245, which means "Elder". It is another descriptive name that denotes the governing body of that denomination.
All that is well and good, but why is Jesus called a "Bishop" in this Passage? Perhaps if we look at the entire Name given, it will make more sense:
Jesus is the SHEPHERD and BISHOP of OUR SOULS. The word for "souls" is ψυχή (Soo-kay Strong's 5590. This is the word from which we derive our English words "Psychiatry, Psychology, Psyche, Psychosomatic" and many others. Here is the definition according to Strong's:
Definition: breath, the soul
Usage: (a) the vital breath, breath of life, (b) the human soul, (c) the soul as the seat of affections and will, (d) the self, (e) a human person, an individual.
So, Jesus is called the Shepherd and Manager of our SOULS, as per the above definition of what our souls are. We are not just a pack of unwilling, stupid, mind-numbed sheep, (although we often act that way) but are sentient, individual persons. Although we are part of the flock, we also have a "psyche", a thinking brain, free will, and a personality.
Whom the Son sets Free is Free Indeed, but it's always nice to know that if we make the wrong decisions, go astray, or are faced with an insurmountable problem, we can always "Call The Manager".
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 67
To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us,
Selah
2 that your way may be known upon earth,
your saving power among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you judge the peoples with equity
and guide the nations upon earth.
Selah
5 Let the peoples praise you, O God;
let all the peoples praise you.
6 The earth has yielded its increase;
God, our God, has blessed us.
7 May God continue to bless us;
let all the ends of the earth revere him.
