Israeli officials have all kinds of surveillance data. Recall in the early days, their missiles were targeting sources of the Hamas missiles.

Israel/Hamas, Hezbollah have been engaged in this cat-and-mouse for decades. Sharon and Arafat did the tit-for-tat until they both died of old age.
