Dwight “Ike” Eisenhower and Donald Trump the last two presidents that only held that one elected office.
In my opinion, two of the best in the past 100 years.
I think there have only been five. Washington, Grant, Hoover, Eisenhower & Trump.
One is. Ike pretty much stood by as the election was stolen in 1960 and did nothing to help the Republican Party, especially after being wiped out in 1958. It took from 1954 until 1981 for the GOP to get back the Senate and from 1954 to 1994 to get back the House. Even the disastrous losses during the Depression didn’t shut the GOP out for that long.
Ike also did nothing to purge 20 years of Socialist/Marxist gov’t policies and infiltration of the federal government, either. The last Republican President to actually cut the size of gov’t and spending was Warren Harding, who was probably the best GOP President between Lincoln to Reagan. He solved the Wilson Recession in a year.
Reagan was a mile better than Eisenhower.
