That I don’t know, and since Orthodox population is growing so fast, Israel will soon be affected.
The main reason the Haredi oppose mandatory service in the IDF is they don’t want their younger members exposed to non-Haredi influences. Haredi leaders have proposed Haredi-only IDF training and divisions, which the Israeli government has turned down.
But what happens when the Haredi have enough population to get their own way…
I hope they are proud to enslave their fellow Jews. Not only in terms of defense, but in not working at all and, instead, living off welfare benefits. They are very holy people, aren’t they.
