Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High!
You Alone Are The One True God.
You Are The Ancient Of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
and Rock of All Ages,
Our Creator,
You Have Made Us,
and All That Is.
You Are The Same Yesterday,
Today, and Forever.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 73

A Psalm of Asaph.

1 Truly God is good to the upright,*
to those who are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For they have no pain;
their bodies are sound and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not plagued like other people.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them like a garment.
7 Their eyes swell out with fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against heaven,
and their tongues range over the earth.

10 Therefore the people turn and praise them,*
and find no fault in them.*
11 And they say, ‘How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?’
12 Such are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.
13 All in vain I have kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all day long I have been plagued,
and am punished every morning.

15 If I had said, ‘I will talk on in this way’,
I would have been untrue to the circle of your children.
16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I perceived their end.
18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19 How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
20 They are* like a dream when one awakes;
on awaking you despise their phantoms.

21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
22 I was stupid and ignorant;
I was like a brute beast towards you.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterwards you will receive me with honour.*
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire other than you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength* of my heart and my portion for ever.

27 Indeed, those who are far from you will perish;
you put an end to those who are false to you.
28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
to tell of all your works.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Like Jesus, Paul did not teach us WHAT to pray, but HOW to pray.There is no actual ready-made Prayer Book in the New Testament that would be like The Psalter. In fact, many pocket-sized New Testaments include Psalms, in order to bridge that gap. (Some even include Proverbs, but then the volume is not so "pocket-sized" any more, so it's harder to "Conceal-Carry". )

One may argue that the NT does have a pre-set prayer, and cite The Lord's Prayer as recorded in Matthew. If that were the case, why then is The Lord's Prayer a little different in the Gospel of Luke? And why did the Disciples ask "Teach us HOW to pray," not "Teach us WHAT to pray"? From these Passages we can infer that Jesus was giving a pattern of prayer rather than a set piece. I LOVE to say The Lord's Prayer from Matthew, from the KJV, complete with the "Thees and Thous", but it is not the sum of my Prayer Life. Prayer must be from the heart and a conversation with God, or it is just reciting magnificent poetry.

Paul teaches that one's LIFE should be a Prayer. In this brief Passage from the Book of Romans, Paul exhorts the Early Church to live in harmony, help one another, practice hospitality, and be in peace. This is an impossible life style if Prayer is not involved. We live in a very cruel and selfish world, and our natural inclination is to take offense at everything and be angry all the time. It's a built-in defense mechanism that helps us survive., but it is not healthy. Since we are powerless to change a lot of the things that hurt us, we turn the anger inward and it becomes detrimental to our well-being, Body, Mind, and Spirit. This is why Paul said to be "transformed by the renewing of the mind." The Spirit, strengthened by prayer, directs the Mind to encourage the Body to do Good. The Actions of the Body affect the Mind in a good way and reflects back to The Spirit, which is edified and responds with Joy and Thanksgiving. The Mind is edified by the abundance of the Spirit, which edifies the Body.

Now, it is possible for the Body to do good without the Spirit, but that only results in self-gratification in the Mind. People who "do good" under their own power, without the Spirit, often become cranky "Do-Gooders" who do not serve others but only themselves. Sometimes they even become what is now known in modern slang as a "Karen". (((Shudder))).

Another extreme would be "Mind-Science" in which the Mind thinks good thoughts but never acts on them. This a very powerful thing and can go disastrously wrong, as now being demonstrated by the Theranos trial. Elizabeth Holmes got everybody to THINK that she had invented a wonderful Blood-Test-Machine, and was able to convince prominent people to back her venture. But just THINKING something doesn't make it true.

Fianally, we have The Spirit. This is the part of us that lives forever and communicates with God. While even Jesus retreated to a quiet place to commune with His Father, He was back "on-the-job" very soon afterward. This is what James was talking about when he said "Faith without works is dead." Our good deeds are the result of our relationship with God, not the Way of Salvation. Jesus was clear about that when He said,

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 NIV)

And so, in Paul's Letter, he tells Believers to Pray, and Think, and Do, in a way that becomes a Lifestyle. Altegether in balance and in harmony, and edifying both our Body, Mind, and Spirit, but also those around us.

Grace and Peace be unto you!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Reading your comments, I could help the think about the musical The Music Man, where Professor Harold Hill was hawking the “think” system to teach children to play.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Ha Ha Ha! I remember that. And, of course, when they "performed", the Parents "THOUGHT" they were wonderful!

I was horrified when I read a similar philosophy espoused by one of my FAVORITE Bass Players, Victor Wooten. Of course, Victor came up with this nonsense after YEARS of playing his scales, modes, finger exercises, riffs, and being able to read music.

It might work for a person who is already a virtuoso, but it doesn't help the beginner.

They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
