Sodomites vs. ...
I saw that about the reformed. Hope it works out for them.
I had good hopes for the UMC split, but it strikes me now that the lead groups for the biblical side are still moderates who will find themselves back in the same position 2 or 3 decades down the road.
Officer, I am not sure what state you are from (could be the state of Missouri or hunger...) but please let me explain: where I am from one of the meanings of declension as a noun can be "the process of changing to an inferior state," likewise "a falling off or away : deterioration," among other synonyms.
Therefore that sign back there warning of a steep decline could say steep declension, which/witch is where I see society - and even much of the church - heading. And I was so preoccupied in my mind about the latter that all I could immediately think of was how fitting, meet, suitable, appropriate (but not as a verb) that sign was to describe this downward spiritual and moral slope, falling off or away, deterioration, etc. and so i failed to slow down. And so here I find myself (not that I was lost) pulled (not that you actually grabbed me) over.
What's that? Just a warning? Oh thank you so much.
I hope are laughing as I am, for the scope and breadth and depth of human language has no equal that we know of. To the glory of God, and to be used rightly.
And "Reformed" churches much invoke their Calvinist forefathers, yet they - and evangelical-type faith - did not sanction women pastors until a relative recent times, for it remains unscriptural. And exceptions in leadership as Deborah (limited role) do not make a norm. See https://peacebyjesus.net/1cor.11+14.html#commentaries
There is precision in the meaning of words either by the book, or to the ear, like music. In this case, declension, rhyming with pretension, hits a sharp.
That said, how the heck are ya, Padre? Long time no "see." Happy new year!
The Christians are breaking away from the cultists.
Doing fine. I had a very bad struggle with covid throughout the latter part of the summer and into the fall. I’ve recovered, but it set me back quite a bit in terms of energy. I’m just now starting to feel normal again.
God is good. I, too, think the women’s ordination thing is troublesome. It seems too often to lead down the ultimately wrong road.
So sorry to hear that, xzins — I wondered where you went! Hope you feel better every day, especially as we get more light and move towards spring. Enjoy your natural immunity now!
