Just weeks ago Aleteia reported Bergoglio deceived his mother early in his academic career letting her believe he was studying for a career in medicine rather than pursuing one in the Church. He justified this deception by regarding himself as preparing to be a “doctor of souls.”
You actually believe he held Liberation Theology in contempt? Why did he hold it in contempt? Was it because he himself was a fascist Peronist? Was it because he was playing the game of self-promotion? Was he simply acting out of personal animosity toward those who held differing opinions?
John Paul fell for the act, whatever it was based upon. We no longer need labor under the delusion of Bergoglian orthodoxy. Perhaps a Pachamama monstrance will soon be popping up in your parish sooner rather than later. Or did you get a sense of satisfaction from the recent Bergoglian correspondence with the homosexual James Martin SJ. That literary masterpiece along with this atrocity perpetrated today upon the faithful makes Amoris Laetitia look like small potatoes.
There is nothing more to hide behind defending this individual. His nine year track record speaks for itself. He indicts himself. Nothing from anyone can dig him a deeper hole or in any sense provide him a defense.
Self-deceit magnifying a loyalty to a mask serves anyone quite poorly.
