Pelosi Says She’s ‘Pleased’ with Vatican Letter to U.S. Bishops on Communion

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday said she was “pleased” with the Vatican’s recent letter to U.S. bishops on Communion for pro-abortion politicians.

Pelosi, who is Catholic, was asked by EWTN News Nightly correspondent Erik Rosales about the topic of Communion on Thursday.

“I think I can use my own judgment on that,” Pelosi said of receiving Holy Communion.

The Speaker has long supported legal abortion and has advocated for taxpayer-funded abortion by repealing the Hyde Amendment. She has also supported the Equality Act, legislation that the U.S. bishops’ conference (USCCB) has warned would “punish” religious groups opposed to the redefinition of marriage and transgender ideology

Pelosi added that she was “pleased with what the Vatican put out on that subject” of Communion for pro-abortion Catholic politicians, claiming that the Vatican’s statement “basically said ‘don’t be divisive on the subject’.”

The Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) wrote the head of the U.S. bishops last week regarding admission to Communion.

The bishops’ conference was reportedly planning to consider a statement on the Eucharist this year, either at their spring meeting in June or at their fall meeting in November. They were planning to address the topic of admission to Communion of Catholics in public office who support permissive legislation on intrinsic evils such as abortion or euthanasia.

This letter from CDF is a big deal and being used by both sides to support their views. Did Ladaria, with prompting from Gomez, Cupich and Nighty-night Tobin, deliberately mean to boost US pro-abort politicians and hobble the bishops?

The Vatican is not what she needs to be worried about.

So sad. All of us have had times in life when we knew the right, difficult things to do but chickened out to be popular in some way. Or we kept silent so a boss wouldn’t punish us for defending someone else.

To have bishops chicken out from adhering to the basic tenets of their faith in order to get closer to Dems and DC dealmakers and get more collection money from the pro-abortion crowd, is much worse.

They are splitting the Catholic Church in two. Believe in God and all the tenets of the Faith or be popular with the Dems.

Maybe the Catholic church would view things differently if the required disposal of aborted babies was that they be shipped to Vatican City c/o Francis...

“I think I Can use my own judgment.” Therein lies the problem with our society when religious leaders agree.

As the mother of five children, my oldest child was 6 years old the day I brought my 5th child home from the hospital, as a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground (late-term abortion) to me when we talk about this. I don't think it should have anything to do with politics. And that's where you're taking it and I'm not going there. Nancy, the Butcher, Pelosi.

Pelosi says abortion issue is 'sacred ground'

What am I missing? Seems the Churchnis clear: By supporting pro-abortion legislation they participate in manifest grave sin, a condition which excludes them from admission to Holy Communion as long as they persist in the pro-abortion stance.

“Pelosi says abortion issue is ‘sacred ground’”

Naturally. The two sacraments of the demonrat party are abortion and sodomy.

“The RCC is dead.”

Jesus said that the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against the Church. No matter what corrupt men may do, so long as there are two faithful Catholics, the Church lives.

“Jesus said that the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against the Church.”

He also said something about not having faith in princes.

So there’s that.
