This article does a good job of articulating what the bible says about the topic. That is it. Everything else is generally people trying to explain God and the heavenly hosts in a way to make them more like us. To rationalize it in a way that brings them down to us. To say “there are not angels.... they are just alien beings”.....and we might even make war against them....
Revelation.... People say all those stars and planets it is almost certain other “life” exists.... yet not one shred of proof.... just rationalizations
Idea #1.... all stars and planets were created explicitly for us on planet earth as referenced in the article. There is no life living on them.
Idea #2.... the God that spoke the entire universe into existence.... who created light by saying “let there be light”..... this same God became a man by being born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and let men here crucify him, raised from the dead, ascended to heaven..... all to provide righteousness to mankind he created.
Which is more difficult to believe?
Obviously no one has ever seen an alien from outer space so no use talking.

Some people believe in the gap theory with regards to creation.
In other words, between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 there were perhaps billions of years. The rebellion of Satan probably happened in that time frame and it caused massive damage to the cosmos. This would explain the planet in-between Mars & Jupiter being destroyed (and possibly others), along with massive craters on most planets/moons.
Another thing to ponder is the orbital path of Mars. Some theologians/scientist suggest Mars used to come very very close to Earth back in the past - and this explains why ancient cultures used to fear the red planet.

If a Christian can wrap their mind around that, those three axioms, so much in the Bible opens up. The Bible is filled with what we would call supernatural. BUT, from the proper perspective there is no super to the natural, we just don't have, are not as now configured, able to sense all the dimensional variables of the GOD created Universe.
1. The only stated purpose of the stars is to give light to the Earth and to mark the seasons. (Gen 1:14-28)
2. Only the Earth is stated as “created to be inhabited”. This is not said of any other planet, star, or heavenly body. (Isa 45:18)
3. The Bible states that God populated the heavens with angels (hosts of heaven), and angels are not biological entities. (Gen 2:1, Luke 2, 24)
Per your statement that the only purpose of the stars is to light up the Earth at night is foolish. Only about 5,000 stars can be seen at night from Earth, what about the 400 million stars in the Milky Way alone. What is the reason for them, not to mention the millions of galaxies full of stars.
Just because God doesn’t mention life on other planets doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. He said there are things that will remain a mystery to us, that may be one of them, or we could discover life on Mars in the near future due to the presence of the Perseverance rover.
My personal opinion is that Heaven is a higher dimension and the firmament is all the stars and planets he created for us.
If by all the known laws of physics we understand if we could conceive and construct a craft that could achieve the speed of light we wouldn't get less than a quarter of the way to the nearest star and everything and everyone we left behind on Earth would be long gone.

Well according to God’s Word they have already landed and Steve is right, the outcome did not turn out very well for all of us earthlings.

I do not need the red light. At almost 69 too often I remember that I wanted to remember something but forget what it was! Now what was this post about?
Perhaps in some ways of human thinking. But humans were not responsible for creating that space.
