There is this weird tendency to think that traditional rituals is obscurantist and localized to a group of strange people, when the latest anthropology finds these types quite widespread and normal social interaction in the world. There never was a zero sum game between science and “magic” or religion. This has been the biggest lie of secularist soulless political atheists (to differentiate them from truer atheists of Pure Reason by Kant).
The weird localized obscurantists are actually found at the UN ironically highjacking the term international to make people believe they are normal people inclusive of all thoughts and social interaction shared in the world.
