Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Lambs, Sheep, and Shepherds
.
Isaiah 16:1-5
Send lambs as tribute
to the ruler of the land,
from Sela, across the desert,
to the mount of Daughter Zion.
2 Like fluttering birds
pushed from the nest,
so are the women of Moab
at the fords of the Arnon.
3 “Make up your mind,” Moab says.
“Render a decision.
Make your shadow like night—
at high noon.
Hide the fugitives,
do not betray the refugees.
4 Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you;
be their shelter from the destroyer.”
The oppressor will come to an end,
and destruction will cease;
the aggressor will vanish from the land.
5 In love a throne will be established;
in faithfulness a man will sit on it—
one from the house[a] of David—
one who in judging seeks justice
and speeds the cause of righteousness.
New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage)
This is part of a Prophecy concerning Moab, but the Currency of Tribute is Lambs.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven,
Holy and Sanctified is Your Glorious Name Forever!
We Come Into Your Holy Presence To Worship You,
And You Alone.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God.
Ancient of Days,
Rock of Ages,
LORD of Hosts,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
You Know the end from the beginning,
And the beginning from the end.
You Are The Author of Life,
Our Precious Creator,
You formed us in the secret places of our mother's womb,
And have a perfect plan for each and every one of us.
LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.
We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The 50's and 60's were very big years for Christmas Cards. Mom had a huge Christmas Card List and sent out hundreds of them. I return, hundreds of cards arrived in our mailbox for nearly an entire month prior to Christmas, and, as they arrived, Mom would check them against the "List". At the end of the season, the list was checked again, and anyone who did not send a card was crossed off. Woe Unto That Person!
The Christmas Cards came in several categories:
1. Santa Cards: These were often beautifully crafted drawings of Santa, Reindeer, Sleighs, Elves, the North Pole, etc. and bore messages ranging from "HO HO HO" to "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year". These were by far the most common.
2 "Seasons Greetings" Usually featuring a snowy New England Theme, these cards were usually from Dad's Photographer friends and business associates. Perhaps it was due to the demographics of Mattapan, but all of the Photographers were Jewish. So they were on the list for a "Seasons Greetings" card from Mom as well, because Jewish People didn't celebrate Christmas but still sent cards.
3. The Religious Ones: These were the most beautiful cards, because they often were illustrated with actual Fine Art. Medieval Frescoes of the Nativity, Renaissance Madonnas, Eastern Icons graced these little paper masterpieces, and it was a shame to throw them away after Christmas. We "arty" kids would save them and cut out the pictures for scrapbooks and collages.
Now, many of these "Religious Cards" had quotes in them from some guy named Isaiah. I figured he had been some kind of Apostle, since he knew all about Christmas, The Virgin Birth, Emmanuel, the Little Child leading the Lion and the Lamb, the Prince of Peace, and so on. Maybe he was even present at the Nativity, like the Shepherds and the Wise Men. I was sure he had to be an "eyewitness" to the occasion.
Of course, I found out later that Isaiah spoke these words 800 YEARS before the Birth of Christ, and he was JEWISH. What was even more shocking was that Jesus was too.
I'll bet neither one of them ever sent a "Seasons Greetings" card.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 115
1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness.
2 Why should the nations say,
‘Where is their God?’
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
5 They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6 They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7 They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
they make no sound in their throats.
8 Those who make them are like them;
so are all who trust in them.
9 O Israel, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
11 You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord!
He is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord has been mindful of us; he will bless us;
he will bless the house of Israel;
he will bless the house of Aaron;
13 he will bless those who fear the Lord,
both small and great.
14 May the Lord give you increase,
both you and your children.
15 May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
16 The heavens are the Lord’s heavens,
but the earth he has given to human beings.
17 The dead do not praise the Lord,
nor do any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.
Praise the Lord!
