Paris (AFP) — France’s largest employers’ federation on Monday urged companies to “resist the blackmail” over a product boycott by Arab countries as a backlash widens over Paris’s hardened stance against radical Islam.
French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to take the fight to Islamic radicals after the October 16 beheading of a history teacher who had shown cartoons of the Prophet Mohamed to pupils in a class discussion on free speech.
But his comments triggered protests in Muslim-majority countries at the weekend, with people burning pictures of Macron in Syria and setting fire to French flags in the Libyan capital Tripoli.
Boycotts of French goods are under way in supermarkets in Qatar and Kuwait, with further calls to spurn French products in Jordan and other states.

After teacher Samuel Paty’s gruesome murder by a Chechen extremist in the name of avenging the Prophet Mohamed, Macron vowed that France would never give up cartoons such as those which in 2015 triggered a deadly attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine and which Paty showed to his class.
Macron hailed Paty as a “hero” for representing the secular, free-thinking values of the French republic, which include a long-cherished right to mock religion.
“He was killed because Islamists want to take our future,” Macron said at a memorial for Paty. “They will never have it.”
Several suspected Islamic radicals have been arrested in dozens of raids since the murder, and about 50 organisations with alleged links to such individuals have been earmarked for closure by the government.
Earlier this month, Macron unveiled a plan to defend France’s secular values against a trend of “Islamist separatism”, and described Islam as a religion “in crisis”.

Either way i’m incredibly and pleasantly surprised.
It shouldn’t be a surprise. It should be what is.
But it is, so I hope they keep running with it.
Wonder how much the average non muslim french person supports him?
We need a new Charles Martel. Macron has testicles? Who knew?

Yet Macron is a supporter of mass immigration (comprised mostly of Muslims) into France and the rest of Europe.
It never seems to dawn on leftists and liberal-on-Immigration conservatives that there would be no problem with Islamic extremism in western nations if we didn’t allow Muslim immigration.
If I were Macron I’d tell all non Muslim Frenchmen to do what their national anthem says. Then they would be free and respected.
And I’d buy the sht out of French products.
I haven’t tried to verify it, but I’ve heard that the church where Charles Martel is buried is in a Muslim neighborhood on the outskirts of Paris.
If true, that is very sad.
Muslims....they are obviously not happy in their Muslim countries, so they migrate to Western countries.
Then they try to change the Western country to adopt culture of their home country where they were not happy.
It should be obvious to everyone...problem is not Western countries. It is Muslims.

Well done. Muslim lives matter. The Western world ggives BLM and Antifa the license of looting & rioting but demands Muslims to be law abiding citizens. It’s unfair!
Such a statement 50 years ago would have seemed absurd and nonsensical.
Macron is now admitting that France is in a battle with Islamists among the many immigrants they allowed into their country.
I can’t imagine a peaceful solution to this problem.
Will refuse to buy French wine.

The Islamicists have long had France’s number.
Macron is not dealing from a strong position.
So we shall have to see how this shakes out.
This reaction by ragheads is demonstrative of why Christ was hostile to the Pharisees. Get worked up and maniacal about the slightest offense to their religious sensibilities but not concerned at all that a guy had his head chopped off. Strain gnats and swallow camels. Get around in their holier than though garb making a big show of how wonderfully righteous they are. Imran Khan is a former test cricketer. Giving up Algeria was one thing. But the French are in for the fight of their lives holding on to France. I hope they have the spirit of the Lord and Charles Martel in them!
