This is not an attack on Ben Shapiro's political positions, which Rabbi Reuven agrees with, but his unkosher religious rationalism.

This may interest those out there who have been led to believe that Orthodox Judaism is a skeptical, rationalistic, "scientific" religion.

I will wait until the creepy self-righteous “Messianic Jews” join the thread.

You can always tell them by their silly Hebrewish sayings, references to “Yeshuah HaMelech,” being “grafted in,” etc., and invariable tales of how they celebrate the Feast of the Golden Trumpets of Jesus, Celebration of the Unleavened Holy Spirit with Mayonnaise, and other nonsense.

They remind me of that white kid in gym class who never fit in with anybody and wasn’t smart enough to make friends so he dressed like Flava Flav and talked funny.

I heard an interview Ben Shapiro had with Pastor John MacArthur in his shoe. It was an hour long and among the topic they discussed, was whether or not Jesus is the Messiah Israel is longing for.

MacArthur explained the Christian understanding of Isaiah Chapter 53 and why it points to Jesus. I found Ben to be quite respectful to that view.

That exchange alone tells me that there is room for mutual understanding of each other’s views despite disagreements.

There are believers, agnostics and athiests. The latter two share little in dogmatic thinking with the first. However almost all identify with a common heritage.

You can always tell them by their references to...being “grafted in”

If you mean that Messianic Jews say they've been “grafted in” to Christianity, you're confused. It's the gentiles who were “grafted in”.

and invariable tales of how they celebrate the Feast of the Golden Trumpets of Jesus, Celebration of the Unleavened Holy Spirit with Mayonnaise

What are those things?

Ben’s okay, but he just can’t resist his little digs at Trump. Whenever his inner anti-Trump comes out, i turn him off.

1. No, I mean “Messianic Jews” claim to be “grafted in” to Judaism, and therefore identify as Jews. They like to do this around real Jews.

2. If you are not familiar with such holy feasts as the High Trinity Herring Nosh, Seven Blood Moon Tabernacle Jesus Ensemble and other “Messianic” delights, you’re missing out!

Stay tuned to FR for more... Like waiters at a cocktail party with bacon and bleu on melba toast the “Messianic Jews” always come around eventually!

Me too. I understand he is doing it for marketing purposes, to separate himself from the pack so he gets a wider swathe of Republicans or even non Republicans in his audience. But it's downright annoying. He turns me off, so I turn him off.

Just asking for a fren: Aren’t all Jews Messianic? Do they not believe in their Messiah? Some believe the Messiah is Jesus, yes Yeshua. Prove them wrong on that belief, but don’t get so upset about Jews believing in Messiah. He’s all over the Torah.

I don’t know, but I assume he was trying to bring levity to a difficult conversation.

I tend to call them “Messy-Antics” with their quasi textual patchwork argument of a religion. It is mostly fueled by a wonderful opening of understanding of God’s awesomeness when opening your eyes to the deep meanings of the old testament.

But, and its a big but, The revelation should come with a corresponding deep personal study. Failure to do that sets you up for a BIG trap of not understanding your personal position in God’s plan. God has a plan for His people and it is clearly spelled out in the entire Bible, where the Jews and the non Jews each have a part to play, and where both houses of mankind have a role to play.

I believe that true messianics are only Jewish, not Churchianic noahihides. The Bible warns us not to crucify Christ anew by a return to the condemnation of the Law. Yet it also warns us to love the Law. That dichotomy is not studied or taught in the Messy-Antics movement because it gets in the way of the proper respect of the role Jews are to play in the future and in the quite improper role Churchianity led quasi-Christians play in trying to be Jewish.

We each have our proper roles, and true fulfillment comes from understanding and fulfillment IN those roles.

Messy-Antics is to me the spiritual equivalent of gender identity crisis issues. This is not to say that Jews are forbidden in understanding who their Messiah is. But that is a personal choice both sides must face, and not a public fad.

I think that was his point.

Most Jewish people don’t consider “messianic Jews” anymore “Jewish”’than, say the black radicals Hebrew Israelites.

(The exception being actual Jewish people who convert, which they consider simply heretics.)

All that to say, I don’t care what non-Jewish people do, provided they are honest and open about it. The Messianics I’ve met in real life tend to be a little weird, but are generally wonderful and earnest people who accept and study the Tanukah. Quite a number have gone all the way and become truly Jewish, rejecting what Jewish people would consider heresy.

Charlie Kirk bashes Trump too, exactly like Shapiro. Kirk’s an evangelical, and I have time for neither.
