What he means is nuns were not salaried employees. Obviously their basic needs, food, shelter, clothing, transportation, etc. were and are taken care of by their religious orders and/or the parishes where they are assigned. Many have taken the vow of poverty and live as mendicants.

Let’s face it, official Church teachings are RARELY mentioned at Novus Ordo masses which are actually more like Protestant services than orthodox Catholic masses.
The problem seems to be mostly related to the world wide shortage of Roman Catholic priests.

Well that goes hand-in-hand with the worldwide shortage of orthodox Catholic masses that the Satan Council (1962-1965) replaced with the Novus Ordo, which is basically a Protestant service.

Or to put it another way, Churches which claim to be Catholic are not because they do not teach or preach any of the fundamental doctrines of the Catholic faith. Hence the folks who attend those churches are no longer “practicing Catholics”, although they do not realize it. SAD!
Catholic Bishoprics should study and answer why Priests are not joining the military.

What priests? The seminaries are vacant, and there are a huge number of parishes here and around the world that have no priest! That information is readily available by the way!
