In this time of shutdown and uncertainty, we lift up Your precious creatures.
As their human caregivers strive to cope with changed routines, isolation or cabin fever with the family, financial hardship or disrupted supply lines, many of our animal companions’ lives have also been dramatically changed.
We ask your blessing, Lord, first on food supply animals and those who manage them, that their standard of care remains humane and compassionate. These animals give their lives for us. May we always be grateful for Your provision through them.
We ask your blessing and provision for veterinary caregivers and animal shelters, typically small businesses of the scale hard hit by the shutdown. Lead them through this time of upheaval, and preserve the worthy practitioners wherever possible, Lord.
And we pray for animals who are working members of small farms or family members of households. These animals bless us and know us personally. Many provide great devotion, especially to the sick or elderly who are especially isolated due to quarantine. We give You thanks for these special companions, and pray for their continued well being as their human families are stressed.
As always, we lift up our indefatigable workhorse of a president and all his team, as well as the vital institutions of our nation, for Your Divine justice and Truth to prevail.

Thank you for remembering our creatures that God has given to us for our care.
This particular verse has served me well when counseling someone who has lost a beloved pet. God wants us to be kind.

Father God, we thank You for all Creation. We admire the beauty and craftsmanship. We thank You for the little friends who are companions and workers.
We especially lift up the people involved in rescue operations of this most vulnerable part of Creation.
Dear Lord, while many are trying to burn this nation to the ground, may the rest of us celebrate a love expanding in our hearts and our actions. May we step up our witness, our ministry and our opportunity to serve. Give us even more love to fight this war.
