Yeah, right...
To: Roman_War_Criminal
Has nothing to do with climate change. The corrupt governments chose to not spend money on protecting their people by spraying the hatching areas when they had the opportunity.
Now they are whining for world help.

90% of the people reading your post will NOT know who Rachel Carson was.
Neither will there be a mention of the tens of thousands of people over the years who have died because of MALARIAL mosquitoes since DDT was outlawed.
There were truly many reasons to ban DDT usage at many places, but DDT was the best at battling mosquitoes.

Aren’t the effects of global warming amazing? (They are trying to pin natural locust cycles on global warming)

The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization has called the locust outbreak, caused in part by climate change"No need to read any further...
No one can explain why a .1 degree PREDICTED global temperature rise over 100 years would change anything right now (.001 increase this year?)

The current waves are due to unusually heavy rains throughout the breeding area. Thats weather not climate, of course, but the real problem is the lack of effective pesticides in large quantities.

Locusts descend upon Africa with regularity.
This may be a large assault, but certainly not unheard of.

I would try and find a way to cook these critters up for nice snack. They might just taste like Chicken.
