Friday, January 3, 2020: Christ: Our Redeemer

Job 19:25, "For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth."

Job understood as we can that we have a living Redeemer, Who Is Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, and that He will one day reign over all His Creation as He first intended.

To "redeem" means to buy back something that has fallen to an enemy. As recorded in Genesis, all Creation was in the hands of God, but when His most beloved of all His creation--mankind, Adam and Eve--chose to rebel against their Creator God's express Word not to touch or eat of the fruit of the tree in the midst of the Garden of Eden, believing from the lies of Satan that God was holding back from them, to a vast extent the entire earth fell into the wickedness of rebellion as well. All of mankind from that point on was subject to a deep and deadly abyss of bondage at the hands of Satan, and all other life on the earth fell into violence and the surety of eventual decay and death as well. It is indeed very grievous and harrowing to think about!

Romans 5:12 tells us: "Wherefore, as by one man [or mankind--Adam and Eve] sin entered into the world, and earth by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." It doesn't seem fair, does it, that the Lord would place a wide-spectrum antibiotic penalty upon those not yet even born? But when a mother and father witness that first temper from their little toddler when they're told "no", it's pretty apparent that that sin nature is there!

Romans 6:20 also states: "For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness."

To be freed a slave has to be redeemed. Could we by our own power come up with the price to free ourselves? No, for only the blood of a completely perfect, innocent sacrifice would suffice to pay in full the "wages of sin".

Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Only God's only Son, by setting aside certain aspects of His Glory and Deity, taking on the form of human flesh Incarnate, could be for us that Perfect Sacrifice.

For one thing, people's minds that have fallen into the lockstep conformity model of dead automatons.

The city that the Patriarchs saw on the Far Side is not named "Drone City".

You’re so very welcome! Death no longer has any sting, nor need we fear it as believers in Christ Jesus, for He has both the keys of Hell and Death. Should we suffer bodily for His Great Cause, even that we pass from life on this earth, our real, actual, true LIFE will begin with Him in Heaven—but through His Love and Grace and Hope, we can rejoice in our remaining time on earth as well.
