Another factor that has affected my personal giving this year has been the Trump tax cuts.

For the first time in over 30 years I ended up taking the standard deduction instead of itemizing. Turbo Tax determined that the standard deduction gave me a bigger refund than itemizing, even with a home mortgage.

So that “tax deductable” donation to “Save the Frogs” ends up not getting deducted. So this year “Save the Frogs” won’t get a check.

I try to be charitable on a individual basis....like a little money to a nephew or niece, or coworker....
