I used to know a guy who was a former major league baseball player. He was a good guy and especially hard worker. Also supervised our recreation crew.

He was 43.

One day he showed up for lunch with an 18 year old girl. They were dating and everyone thought it was improper.

I got to thinking about it and while I would not encourage it, there is technically nothing wrong with their getting married.

I think there is a difference between a former ball player and a youth pastor.

I have a friend who was a high-school classmate. When she was 18 she married a man who was 39. They are still together all these decades later. Not the most likely scenario to work out, but it can.
