I know a number of relatively holy men who would make good priests of this sort, but who I think would probably not be up to hearing confessions, would be better off reading homilies, and would of their own volition wish to avoid the pitfalls of governance. They are also celibate. One can revive this practice without throwing celibacy under the bus.
