Aimee Semple McPherson - The Power of Faith

I attended briefly a Presbyterian church with a female pastor.....
Needless to say, her understanding of the bible was beyond weak.... sadly..
She was a piece of work, when she would read scripture she would replace any gender pronoun with that one and then add “or” the other gender pronoun...
IE “When I was a boy (or girl) I would played with childish things”...
Didn’t matter the context... So she would read Letters from Paul, written in the first person, as though he somehow was optionally gendered...
Needless to say, when that’s whats going on inside the churches, there is no wonder secular humanism is winning... the churches are effectively promoting the own demise from sheer stupidity.
it all depends on if you actually believe the bible as your authority or some other thing!

The most widely ignored scripture in Christianity: 1st Corinthians 14:34-37.
Let your women keep silence in the churches - for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. But if they would learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is a shame for a woman to speak in the church.
Why don’t we also ignore the Ten Commandments?
I am aware of the sad events in her life. The sermon is only 28 minutes long, and recommended listening.
QUESTION: is 1 Corinthians 14:34-37 an absolute command for women to remain silent at ALL TIMES in ALL SERVICES?
OR is the prohibition to be understood as limited in some way by the context?
To number 7, one of your posts from 2011.
It is a prohibition to be understood as limited by the context.
In interpretation, CONTEXT RULES.
I guess Paul’s letter was a living breathing letter, and his words did not mean what they said. Who knew?
The Bible (GOD’S WORD) says Eve was deceived.
The commandment from God to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was to Adam.
Adam was not deceived. And he ate.
To be on the safe side they should just be quiet. Impossible I know, but I can dream.
This was not a general statement, as the book itself shows.
And as the rest of the New Testament also shows. Read Paul’s epistles.
But first you have to have the Holy Spirit in you as a result of believing the the Lord Jesus Christ per hearing the true GOSPEL, SEE Romans 1:16-17.
The Bible (GOD’S WORD) says Eve was deceived.
The commandment from God to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was to Adam.
Adam was not deceived. And he ate.
We cannot just isolated one verse in Paul’s epistle without looking at other verses.
Women were allowed to pray or prophecy ( see 1 Corinthians 11:5 ) within the cultural settings they were in.
So, 1 Corinthians 14:3435 cannot be an absolute prohibition against all types of speaking by all women at all times simply because an earlier passage ALLOWS women to do so.
Women pastors escalated the downfall of the UMC, by a factor of 10.
Scripture IS God speaking! The Spirit works in us as we sup on that endless buffet. We believers are NOT the hardened teachers of the law who Jesus challenged on their searching the Scriptures while missing Him. That is often quoted against us Bible thumpers😊 by the babblers, but as I said their babble aint got nothin' on God's breathed-out Word.
