Moscow, April 19, Interfax - The Notre Dame fire is a sign not only to Europe, but also to Russia, and therefore what happened cannot be perceived as someone else's trouble, priest Alexander Volkov, press secretary of Patriarch Kirill, said.
"Speaking about the spiritual aspect of this story, it is a horrible and menacing sign to our entire European civilization, not only to the Parisians, who have let Muslims come to live with them. It seems to me that God doesn't act locally, he loves all his children and calls on everyone to come to reason," father Alexander said on Facebook.
People who say that the Notre Dame is "their" tragedy and we have enough of our own problems and burned, destroyed holy places, do not understand that the Notre Dame is not part of "their" culture, but part of our common European culture, he said.
"The church in Kizhi is also a part, but it is strange, to say the least to make the French cry or even demand the recognition of Kizhi as the same part of our Christian heritage, in actual fact this approach is deprived of internal nobility, intelligence," the priest said.
"The sadness and grief for the burned cathedral in Paris is one grief and one sadness. The seized churches in Ukraine is another, Kizhi is a third. Our national disgrace in the deteriorating churches in the regions is also our pain. But why mix it all together and say 'no, look, what problems we have'. It is good and right to have compassion with the French, but the tragedy is deeper. And it is definitely not in the fact that something is taken from someone, like one priest said here, that we are Orthodox and nothing is taken from us. Something is taken from everyone, and from us, too," Patriarch Kirill's press secretary said.

He’s right.
It’s a shame here that among some, such disdain for certain Christian sects exists when we will need EVERY Christian from every country in order to fight the muslim enemy.
The Swedes have said that they don't have any culture, no Swedish culture i.e. That's why they feel the need to import foreigners--who have a culture.
And in the decadent enclaves of Western Civilization, Western Civilization is considered evil. The decadent seen nothing in it worth passing on to future generations. In fact, they can find no reason to have future generations, and they have aborted, homosexualized, and birth controlled themselves into demographic extinction.
Some of the Swedes praise the replacement of the native Swedish population with a population of foreigners.
Such people are not likely to see the destruction of Notre Dame or of Western Civilization as a bad thing.
And Americans of the same mind set, who flock to the Democrat Party, consider the USA to be an evil, racist, Nazi nation that must be destroyed. The burning of Notre Dame can only bring them jubilation but disappointment that it was not entirely destroyed.
Interfax is owned by the oligarchs that surround Putin. It claims to be “independent” but is only independent because it is protected. Might as well say “Pravda”.

We can't throw stones anymore. We're as bad, if not worse.
However, we could do worse than having the Russian Orthodox in the front line against Islam. Precisely because Russians are clear-sighted about the enemy, and what they must do to overcome them.
Plus they are no longer vulnerable to the whining of the wishy washy seeking to cripple their war efforts.
Moscow still seeks to be the center of Christendom, and were they to crush the Muslim hordes, they would deserve that title.
