You know, just for kicks last night I did a web search on "Catholic" and "geocentrism," and I found this "conservative" Catholic forum (run by the "Catholic Answers" types), and the absolute hatred and contempt they had for their geocentrist co-religionists was something to behold. Their words were so ugly, so insulting, and so fanatical. And I thought to myself, "I notice we never read or hear language like this used against the homosexuals and so-called heretics in the Church." But for geocentrists (and creationists) suddenly the "universal" Church isn't so universal after all, and all the love and concern for all the freakazoids to feel "welcome" in the Catholic Church absolutely dissipates. There is no mercy or even the slightest attempt to understand these dissidents. No, they're all "under Protestant influence" (you know, like Bellarmine and the church fathers and practically the entire world before Galileo).

I wonder . . . do modern Catholics think that creationists, geocentrists, or even flat earthers don't have souls to be saved? Where are they supposed to go to "save" theirs if the "universal Church" that slobbers all over homosexuals doesn't want them? I suppose that's why G-d allowed Protestantism to develop, for those "too stupid to be Catholic" after the "age of reason."

I can guarantee you that a Church that hadn't sold out on cosmology and cosmogony would not be run by the people that are running it today. But I supposed that would be too embarrassing and most Catholics would rather have the pink mafia.

That's the weird thing about Catholicism. Things that every Catholic used to believe suddenly become "Protestant" and "un-Catholic" when some scientist somewhere belches.

I'm still waiting for some scientist somewhere to tell Catholics that uniformitarian science doesn't allow for a "virgin birth."

Pope Francis, gay people are people doing something wrong. How are we to make that work with your attempt at issuing them mercy? People committing sin are not entitled to understanding, at least until they stop doing that which is objectionable to God. When they stop, we will issue understanding and mercy, but not until.
