That is the same number of post-Pentecost infant dedications in the NT as well.
I would add that infant dedications are not claiming to be anything other than a time where parents appear before the congregation, make it clear that they want to raise their child to know and honor Christ, and ask for prayer to strengthen and give them grace for such a task.
It is a reflection of intent of the parents
It is a reflection that none of us are capable on our own to accomplish such a task.
It honors the command of God to raise your child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
There is no claim of salvation.
“That is the same number of post-Pentecost infant dedications in the NT as well.”
At the dedications I’ve been to, the people in the church promise to try to help the child grow up with Christian support. I doubt any Apostles would have a problem with that.
I do think they might wonder how “believe and be baptized” was turned into “be baptized and maybe someday believe”.
Except nobody is claiming infant dedications save the baby.
It's more of a public declaration by the parents of their intention of raising the child in a Christian home, and their recognition that the child is a gift from God and really belongs to Him, that they are just the appointed caregivers while the child is rowing up.
Maybe you forgot,
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) (Luke 2:22-23)
But if that is disallowed as dedication, it would mean it cannot be certain this was a practice of the NT church, yet unlike baptism, it is for infants where it occurs in the OT, and is consistent with the principle of consecration.
And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. (1 Samuel 1:11)
