The American Bible teacher Dr Chuck Missler has died at the age of 83.

Koinonia House, the ministry he founded 45 years ago, reported this morning: "Charles "Chuck" W. Missler passed away peacefully at his home in Reporoa, New Zealand".

Best known for his teaching series Learn the Bible in 24 Hours, Dr Missler was a popular author and speaker who ministered across the world before retiring last year.

Supporters of his ministry paid tribute to Dr Missler on Twitter, writing he had "gone home to be with the Lord".

Dr Missler was formerly a preacher at the 30,000-member Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, in California where thousands of cassette tapes of his messages were distributed each month.

In more recent years his messages aired on GOD TV, RevelationTV, and TBN Europe.

Sad. He lost his wife Nancy a few years ago.

I loved listening to him.

Heaven’s gain. Our temporary loss. I will never forget the first time I heard Chuck Missler on the radio! Rapid fire fabulous information. I was in my car and pulled into a parking lot so I could give full attention to his teaching. He helped immensely in bringing my fledgling Christian life to fruition. I doubt there could ever be another like him. Thank you, Chuck Missler!

Yes, he was a great Bible teacher. Sometimes he was hard to listen to because of the hoarseness of his voice and the abruptness of his thought patterns but he was so good a thinker and teacher you forgave him or forgot about the voice or the thoughts not quite fleshed out.

He had some creative thoughts about extraterrestrials and how they could be understood within a biblical worldview.

As I recall he was a distinguished and well respected scientist but never stumbled or apologized for his heartfelt faith in Jesus Christ. He is with the Lord in His kingdom as we carry on in this present world. The Lord blesses those who love Him with all their heart.

As a technical man I found his way of teaching to be best aligned with my way of thinking. Many Christians are moved by lofty platitudes and words like love and relationship, but I like the way Missler handled prophecy as a way to validate Scripture and other cool things like Cosmic Codes.

One of his briefing packs likened our souls to information traveling over the airwaves. It cannot be seen and weighs nothing, but it is very meaningful and valuable and unique. Then he said, “Ladies and gentlemen, our earthly bodies will die, but we’re headed for an upgrade — in heaven!”

The world will always be a better place because of Chuck Missler. RIP my friend, you’ve received your heavenly upgrade.

I treasure my Bronze Medallion from the Koinonia Institute, and my photo of Dr. Missler presenting it to me during one of his Bible teaching nights at the Post Falls, Idaho facility. Chuck taught the Bible in a truly unique fashion that included fascinating hidden meanings, quantum physics and space-time theory.

He was a true man of God and of science, and is now forever in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thanks for all the fine teaching, Chuck.

I remember pulling to the side of the road to listen to Chuck. Nearly 40 years ago. He was teaching about Isaac being a type/shadow of Christ. It was just an outstanding message.
