They want the benefits of ambiguity, which is why they refused to answer the question. If they answered it, they’d have taken a definite (and weakened) position on “hate speech”.

I’d follow up with the question: Would answering that question be a hate crime for the same offense, given that such clarification would offend someone?

"One wonders how long defining “hate” as, “I believe A is true, but you believe A is false,” will be sustainable."

The sad answer is that, as long there is a surviving democrat or Muslim, we will spend every day with a gun aimed at our heads.

Britain has chosen to commit cultural suicide. There is damned all anyone can do to stop their self-immolation.

Yeah, when you run around burning the Pope in effigy on your national holiday, I’d say that qualifies as “stirring up hatred” based on religion. The double standard is incredible.

Hard to believe this is the country that at one time controlled one quarter of the world and sent missionaries all over.

Lord Pearson of Rannoch, a UKIP peer, says when he raised a question on the issue on the House of Lords, the government failed to state clearly whether Christians cannot be prosecuted just for stating their beliefs.
Thanks marshmallow.

HMMMmmm...

Matthew 10:33
But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Even though you speak truth about some one or some thing, they can still take you to court for, I assume, your intentions.

It's your intentions for doing something that MAKES it a 'hate crime'.

Where this world is heading just blows me away.

It was foretold...

Matthew 10:27-40

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Is it a “hate crime’ yet?

It used to be; on FR at least; bad manners to speak in a mocking tone about the Mary that Rome has created.

One could get tossed into a FRless type of purgatory for a few days for doing that.

It’s still bad manners, but nobody’s going to put you in jail over it. And this is a private site anyway; the owners can make any rules they wish.
