Catholics will understand that the institution of the Church no longer preaches the gospel of Christ and will leave to form a new institution. Because our "new institution" will be so much better than the one Jesus himself founded? He didn't do it right the first time and we'll fix his mistake?

Not Magisteriam, Moral Minipulators < who can’t or won’t follow the Teachings of Jesus Christ.

No. You are mistaken! The Catholic faithful will never vote with their feet.
The Catholic faithful will stay in the Church speaking that truth Seifert spoke until, again it prevails. And it will because truth has its own lure to the seeker of it.

Yes, I agree. And I would would be very happy too if the hierarchy requested prayer more often!

No, there aren’t. There can be two men claiming to be pope, but there cannot be two popes.

I fall back on my intersection analogy. Imagine a small rural town with one main intersection that is marked with 4-way stop signs. The city fathers and the cops they employ are corrupt such that if you are part of the old boy network you can blow through the intersection with impunity. If you are on their bad side, or an out-of-towner passing through, you get ticketed even if you show perfect obedience to the traffic law and come to a complete stop.
Under this scenario, the "faithful" get punished; however, even though the administrators and enforcers are completely corrupt, it does not invalidate the concept of having stop signs at intersections. The principle of having stop signs at an intersection is good and beneficial, even if those to whom the actual intersection is entrusted are abusively contemptuous of it.
