In an interview with Oliver Stone, Putin declared "God has decided."

Vladimir Putin claims it’s his “duty” to stop gay people from getting married.

In an interview with Oliver Stone airing on Showtime this week, the Russian president explained that, as head of state, he was obligated “to uphold traditional values and family values.”

His reasoning? “Because same-sex marriages will not produce any children. God has decided, and we have to care about birth rates in our country. We have to reinforce families.”

“But,” he added, “that doesn’t mean that there should be any persecutions against anyone.”

Repression of Russia’s LGBT community is well-documented, but Putin has continually denied queer people face persecution. Talking with Stone, he claimed Russia is “liberal-minded to a great extent,” and insisted gay Russians are under no particular threat.

I don’t think reforms like that can happen until the Deep State leftists are exposed, arrested and put into some appropriate off-shore facility such as GITMO. They are all enemy combatants and can be detained indefinitely. But Trump needs to bide his time and wait for the right moment to make his move.

I think abortion is not a complex procedure needing expensive infrastructure (thus the coat hanger jokes). Tradition of doctors doing unofficial abortions and the wish of not leaving a paper trail for the women and avoiding taxes for the doctors (Labor is heavily taxed in Russia. Social security 30%, value added tax 18%, income tax 13%).

I am just sad that Russia, which is significantly poorer than the United States, has more will at its highest levels to try and save itself than west Europe or the United States.

Putin is lying in this interview and an anti-American slime Oliver Stone is an accomplish in delivering that lie. Putin is saying things his PR team thinks makes westerners like him. His actions are different from his sweet sounding words.
