Matthew 4:3-4, “And the tempter came and said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ “ (Jesus quoted Deut. 8:3)
During the 3 temptations by Satan, Christ only uses the authority of a Scripture as the basis of each confrontation.
Not once does Christ appeal to tradition.
In other words, He confronted the apparition with Scripture and no mention of tradition (which has little authority or usage in a case like this).
Are you joking?
The apostles did not yet exist. The Church did not exist. Jesus’ public life had not yet happened. The New Testament did not exist.
Are you TRYING to make yourself preposterous?
