"Pope Francis: I will repeat what I said on my first trip. I repeat what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says: that they must not be discriminated against, that they must be respected and accompanied pastorally…The problem is a person that has a condition, that has good will and who seeks God, who are we to judge?"

Consider the following from a related thread ...

Contrary to Pope Francis’ misguided political correctness to be nice to LGBT people, Matthew 18:15-17 shows us that Jesus taught that a congregation is ultimately supposed to treat unrepentant sinners like pagans and tax collectors.

In fact, note that in 1 Corinthians 5, Paul reflected on Jesus’ teaching about unrepentant sinners by reprimanding the Corinthian Christians for not expelling a sexual offender, verse 1 Corinthians 5:13 based on God’s command to “purge the evil from among you" as evidenced by Deuteronomy 19:19.

The misguided Pope also evidently doesn’t understand that 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns not to be misled, that “bad company corrupts good morals.”

The Pope is essentially telling Catholics to practice the Stockholm syndrome with respect to dealing with unrepentant sinners imo.

While Obama has proved that anybody can become President, Pope Francis is likewise proving that anybody can become Pope.

The point here is, he is responding to a question which references a group of people who were actively engaged in, or actively pursuing, OBJECTIVE MORTAL SIN at the very moment of their demise.

A very important point indeed. The merciful thing (albeit not the most welcoming by the world) to do at this point would be to remind the world of Catholic teaching on homosexuality. No, instead those of us who do are told to apologize for being meanies.
