I don’t think the “Sexual Revolution” was so much an economic thing as the sexual “freedom” brought by the availability of artificial contraception (particularly condoms); this was much later (after WWII).

Charles Goodyear is credited with the ‘invention’ of the “rubber” condom around 1844. Julius Fromm modernized the process for making the condom in 1912, with a process called “Cement Dipping.” (Latex - although not generally credited until 1920).

The betrayal of women was sealed in the embrace of contraception by Protestant faith communities.
