I must confess to being a lifelong fan of traditional anthropmorphic "talking beast" fiction and wouldn't mind being able to visit such a world.
(You knew this was coming as soon as you saw the title of the article . . . . . .)
Everything OLD is NEW again....
The new rights frontier. The right to be delusional.
And it’s not just the freedom to be delusional (which I’m OK with). Since it’s a “right” it imposes on everyone else an obligation to accept, embrace, respect, and provided all appropriate benefits to the delusionals UNDER PENALTY OF LAW!!
This is precisely WHY we need a Space program that can colonize other planets, at least in our solar system, so we can escape or force these yahoos to go live on an asteroid some where....
Yup. Dinner parties at Redwall.
Not to mention Romans 1:28 - Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
Per TvTropes, the Egyptian gods are considered “petting-zoo people”, because they have human bodies, as distinct from “Funny Animals” who are basically actual animals that happen to speak and/or walk upright e.g. the characters in “Zootopia” or the Redwall books.
In before Hillary starts barking.
Very good summary of the rebellion and the descent into madness.
“...virtually no government control of truly moral issues (abortion, marriage, obscenity, pornography, euthanasia, narcotic abuse, religious freedom, etc).”
I disagree. I think the trajectory is toward complete government control of moral issues. The goal is for morality to conform to the whims of those who govern. To accomplish this, traditional morality must be cast aside.
Believe it or not, I've never read any Redwall books. I grew up on stuff like Uncle Remus' Brer Rabbit stories, Kipling's Jungle Book, and Wind in the Willows. I've even read the Silverwing series (because bats!!!). I don't get out much any more; if I did I could check a Redwall book out of the library, I suppose.
But then, I want to meet Pinkie Pie!!!
You got to the heart of it. Government as dipensor and arbiter of morals, conduct, and wealth.
We are far past the slippery slope and have fallen off the cliff.
I was traveling in my vehicle, listening to the radio, talk radio in fact, and a speaker that was on expressed her views about a “news” story that has surfaced about a man that wrote a book called Dolphin Lover. I checked and it is out in print form, and film form. Stunned.
A 15 minute documentary is found at the links that appear when searching the www using the term Dolphin Lover.
It is proof positive that we have went over the cliff, and it’s down hill from here on out.
Cue the gif where everyone is jumping into a very large hole in the ground- like lemmings to the sea...
But hey, we haven't hit bottom yet, so it's all good.
The fact this moron dressed up like a skittle pooping unicorn is reason enough to build more psychiatric hospitals in blue states.
And a woman researcher did too. Did what? Had inappropriate relations. This- in 1965. The other conduct- 1971.

I’ve got some 92 proof rum in the house. It’s five o’clock somewhere. Close enough.
