I love my Catholic brethren, but I cannot follow you down that road.
I cannot see asking a dead person to do anything on my behalf.

To repeat. When a person dies, only their body turns to dust.
Their soul is fully alive and is judged by Christ and sent to heaven, hell or purgatory.
Death is a state of physical being, but a soul is eternal.
We are told in Revelations 8:4 the prayers of the saints are being offered in Heaven. Who are those prayers from? Are the angels acting as mediators, offering them to God?
