At one time we held a 3 year reserve of grains but they/we we decided it cost to much. Now if we don’t use the last bushel from last years crop the same day the first bushel of the new crop comes in, we screwed up.

Why was a reserve important? We had seen starvation in Europe during WWII and after.

yes, a recipe for disaster.........................

I think the Brits had food rationing about five years after the war concluded.
